Some Basic Ways to Use Private Label Products

Written By: lisamcope on August 23, 2008 One Comment

Did you know that some people purchase PLR (private label rights) products and
don’t take advantage of all of the income opportunities that may be lurking
inside those products? GASP!

It’s true. I’m even a little guilty of letting products sit on my hard drive too long. Shhhhh!

Today we are going to talk about some ways that you can uncover opportunities hidden
inside the PLR that you may not even realize are there.  So you don’t waste a
golden opportunity by not taking full advantage of the PLR.

First we have the obvious. You can buy PLR products and resell them as is.
I do this a lot.  As I’m sure you’ve noticed.

This is certainly one of the easiest ways to make money with PLR products.
It allows you to recoup your investment quickly. PLR products that come with
sales pages for the products are a goldmine because it cuts your workload down
and increases the value of the product.

This method is fairly easy. Buy the product, upload the files to your website.
Do a few quick edits, add in your payment links and you are ready to start selling.

Next, you can buy PLR products, combine several of them and sell them as a package.
This takes a little extra work but it’s worth it because you can usually charge more for
the products. If you decide to create your own bundle you will need to create a sales
page to go with it.  It is also a  good idea to give your bundle a catchy name that will
make it stand out from the crowd.

And of course you can buy PLR products and edit them to meet your needs and the
needs of your list, and then sell them. This takes a bit of extra time but it’s worth it,
because what you end up with is a product that spreads your name and links everywhere
it goes.

To do this, you take the source files to your PLR products and edit them to reflect
your own thoughts and views. Add in links to your websites, products or affiliate
products and then rename the product and create a PDF of your new product.
It is also a good idea to create a sales page and new graphics for your new
product so that it will  have a nice new look when it hits the marketplace.

To Increase the value and the price that you can charge for your newly
created products  you can offer your customers the resale rights to your new
product, so that they can sell it too. This will give them a nice incentive to
pass along your product with all of your links inside. If you want to get fancy
you can also offer them the opportunity to rebrand the links inside with their
own affiliate links after they join your affiliate program. This again increases
the price that you can charge for your product.

Now here is where things get interesting. You can take your PLR products and
edit them and then sell the newly edited version as a PLR product itself.

When you do this, you will need to not only create a PDF file of the product, but
also a Word or text file, new graphics and possibly a sales letter, so that your customers
will have a true PLR product themselves. This takes a bit more effort on your part, but
again it pays off in the end, because you can charge more when you sell the PLR rights.

Ok this is getting long winded and now that we have covered the basics I’m going to
leave you with a few more quick ideas on ways that you can use PLR content.

You can use it …

- To build your subscriber list.
- To create free reports.
- Create your own Ecourse’s or training classes.
- Create a series of free tips.
- Create bonuses for your other products.
- Add the content to your website and blog or membership site.
- Create content for your newsletter.
- As a basis for your own teleseminar.
- To increase your search engine rankings.
- To create passive income from Google adsense sites.
- To promote affiliate programs.
- To create tangible products like CDs or DVDs.
- Create a video articles or a video training series.

And the list could go on…

There are many more ways that you can use PLR content, With a little bit of ingenuity
and elbow grease, but if you’ve made it all the way down here I’m pretty sure you
have a good idea of what you’re going to do next.

Good luck with all of your PLR products,
Lisa

    Lisa,
This is such an excellent article. I’m certain there
are many, many of us with tons of PLR dust cluttering
our hard drives who have often wondered what else could be done with them! Here, in one awesome article, you’ve pretty much run the gamut on possibilities! Now, after reading this, we should all feel as if we’ve unearthed King Tut’s loot.

    Thanks so much Lisa!
